TEEN ATELIER PROGRAM
Academic Drawing & Painting
Drawing and painting are skills that we believe anyone can learn. Becoming good at either requires instruction and plenty of practice. We strive to give our students the opportunity for both. Our curriculum is designed to provide fundamental and advanced skills in drawing and painting using a targeted, systematic approach. Students work primarily from life beginning with a unique drawing foundations course and advance to drawing from the cast, drapery studies, working from The Charles Bargue Drawing Course, the still-life, and finally, the live figure. Practice through repetition, logical thinking and hard work, ensures students will gain knowledge, understanding and confidence by producing excellent works of art.
As with the study of classical dance, learning a musical instrument or playing a sport, the craft of drawing and painting requires commitment, study and practice. Our program offers each student individual attention, instruction and critique. We provide a creative, fun and safe environment for the student to learn, grow and excel.
