CAPTURING THE PORTRAIT

Capture the essence of the live model with Oklahoma artist Behnaz Sohrabian!  Behnaz, celebrated for her ability to portray not only the likeness, but the very spirit of her subjects, returns to OACA to share her experience and techniques.  In this 2-day workshop, artists will work on drawing correct proportions, showing expressions, and capturing the feeling of a portrait.  Working from both photographs and the live model, Behnaz will explain "how to draw what you see and express how you feel about the model without any stress"!  Workshop space is limited to 10 artists.
​  Ages 15 and up, all levels welcome.  Enrollment closes August 1.

​Born and educated in Tehran, Iran, Behnaz has earned a B.S. in Applied Chemistry, a B.A. in Painting, and a Master of Arts in Art Studies. After completing her Master’s degree she immigrated to the United States in 2010.

​REGISTRATION FEE   
To reserve a place in a OACA workshop or class, students must pay a deposit + non-refundable registration fee or full tuition + non-refundable registration fee.  Students will risk losing a place in a class or workshop if the tuition is not paid in full on the tuition due date (4 weeks prior to start date). 

CANCELLATION POLICY
  • If OACA cancels a workshop, students will receive a full refund minus the $25 registration fee.
  • If a student cancels more than four weeks before the start date, a full refund will be given minus $50 cancellation fee.
  • If a student cancels four weeks or fewer from the start date, no refund will be given.
  • **OACA is not responsible for any fees associated with a student having to cancel or change travel plans, including hotel and flight if OACA cancels a class, workshop or changes its schedule.
  • No refund is given for student absences during the course of the workshop.
  • There are no student make-ups for workshops.
  • Any other refunds are at the discretion of the Administration.
